RUTGERS 2019 Summer School of Addiction Studies Summary Report
Course Title: Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) and the Nature of Spiritual Experience and Applied Spirituality
Instructor: John Calvin Chatlos, MD
 Additional comments:
· Could be an entire semester!
· Dr. Chatlos is an outstanding instructor.
· Excellent! Thank you.
· Fantastic. Trauma + spirituality. 10 minutes after class was extremely helpful. Thank you!!
· Caveat it should be noted that this is an very experiential class.
· I really appreciated your transparency + level of self disclosure. It was brave and I can say I know that experience I appreciate you. Let people sit in their experience do they can decide/feel its effects, and then have them personally respond you.
· Intriguing workshop, greatly apprenticed the correlation between spirituality and the brain, evolution and that they see connected which is cool because being spiritual is realizing everything is somehow connected.
· Spirituality awakening incomplete but started. Thank you!
· This class was excellent- it was eye opening and life changing. Instructor was great.
· This course did meet my expectation even though it was excessive. I learned a lot my feedback is based on my lack of spirituality & needs.
· Try starting one presentation with the brain & how it processes info, how faith/spirituality impacts the brain in recovery.
